DECATUR, Ala. – Sea Lion sophomore Jessica Van Loo was selected as the recipient of the 2011 Brine Method Champions of Character scholarship. This is the fifth year for the NAIA and Brine to award scholarships and recognize one female and one male student-athlete that best exemplify the Champions of Character and Brine Method ideal throughout the NAIA soccer national championship tournaments.

The NAIA on behalf of Brine will contribute a $1,000 scholarship to Point Loma Nazarene. Van Loo is the second Sea Lion player to receive the Champions of Character award; Amanda Rowand was the 2009 honoree.

Additionally, at the closing ceremonies of the 28^th annual women' soccer national championship, two PLNU players were selected to the NAIA All-Tournament team: seniors Katie Pedlowe and Erica Wessels. Pedlowe is a second-time all-tournament pick, also earning that distinction in 2009.
