OAHU, Hawaii - The No. 6 seed Point Loma women's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 3 seed Grand Canyon in the first round of the Pacific West Conference Tennis Championships on Thursday, Apr. 18.
The loss drops the Sea Lions to 9-15 on the season as the No. 13 nationally ranked 'Lopes improved to 12-4 overall.
Grand Canyon took all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Then the match turned to singles play where GCU grabbed points on the No. 4 and No. 5 courts by the identical scores of 6-1 and 6-3.
PLNU now moves in to the consolation bracket. The Sea Lions will face No. 7 seed Academy of Art tomorrow starting at 5:30 p.m. (PST)
