PLNU Athletics

As a Junior (2010)
Led the team with 10 points, those coming off of three goals and four assists… started all 16 contests... on the year took 41 shots, 15 on goal… twice scored a goal and had an assist: on Sept. 11 against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) and Oct. 9 versus Hope International…  other goal was Sept. 21 against Marymount which was the game-winner… team MVP, All-GSAC honoree and both a GSAC and NAIA Scholar Athlete.

As a Sophomore (2009)
Appeared in all 24 contests last season, starting in 15…recorded a team-high 50 shots last season…two goals throughout the season coming on separate occasions facing Westmont on Oct. 17 and Vanguard during the National Tournament on Dec. 1…also notched two assists…earned All-GSAC, NAIA All-American, and NAIA All-Tournament honors.

As a Freshman (2008)
Stepped in right away for the Sea Lions, starting 17 games… had the game-winning assist in her first collegiate game, a 1-0 win at Mount Vernon Nazarene on Aug. 29… also recorded a crucial assist in 2-1 win at Cal State San Marcos on Sep. 17.

Prior to PLNU
Played three years of varsity soccer for Coach Mark Jones… was first team all-league as a senior, finishing second in the league in total points… led her high school to three North Coast Section 3A titles… played club soccer for the Mustang Mavericks and won three state cup championships… a scholar athlete who maintained a high school GPA of above 4.0… also played lacrosse.

Personal
Born July 15, 1991, in Stockton, Calif.,… parents are Mike and Sharon… three siblings: Kelsey, Drew and Emily… favorite food is chocolate covered pretzels… likes the TV show “What I Like About You,” and the movie Pride & Prejudice… would like to have met Joseph, Winston Churchill or FDR and is a fan of Will Smith… favorite soccer player and team are Michelle Akers and Manchester United… enjoys reading, writing and being with friends and family… Katie is a literature major with aspirations of being a writer, teacher or editor.
